Frequently Asked Questions

What is tuina?

Tuina is a traditional Chinese therapeutic massage that has been practiced for thousands of years. It uses a variety of hand techniques, acupressure, and stretches to promote balance, improve circulation, and release muscular tension. Unlike relaxation massage, Tuina is often more dynamic and focused on specific concerns.

Unlike some forms of relaxation massage, tuina is rooted in Chinese medicine. As a tuina practitioner, I work with the body’s channels and acupressure points to restore energy flow (qi) as well as physical balance. Tuina is both invigorating and deeply therapeutic.

Tuina is a form of therapeutic massage and can address a wide variety of issues. These include:

  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Neck, shoulder, and back tension
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Stress and fatigue
  • Sports recovery
  • Improving flexibility and mobility
  • Digestive issues
  • Fibromylagia
  • Anxiety, depression, and grief

My sessions last one hour, and the patient remains clothed. A typical session may include pressing, kneading, rolling, and stretching techniques. I adapt my pressure and techniques based on your needs and comfort.

During my sessions, I combine tui na and craniosacral therapy, as well as tools like moxabustion, cupping, gua sha, and external herbs.

Most people leave feeling relaxed and grounded.

Tuina uses both strong and soft pressure, but should not be overwhelmingly painful. In the case of strong pressure, many people describe it as a “good pain” followed by deep relief. I always communicate with patients in order to work in a way that is comfprtable for them and I am happy to adjust my approach at any time!
Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Avoid heavy meals or alcohol right before your session.
After our first session, I will suggest a plan tailored to your needs depending on the severity and complexity as well as your health goals. Most people benefit from a series of treatments so that we can effectively address the underlying causes of their current issues.
Tuina is generally safe, but there are some cases where it may not be recommended (such as during pregnancy, with certain injuries, or specific health conditions). I begin each session with a conversation, and I invite you to share your medical history with me so I can adapt my techniques to your individual needs.
I provide sessions in Rosemont for 100 $.

Yes. As a certified massage therapist, I provide receipts for insurance reimbursement. I offer insurance receipts via the AQTN (Association Quebecoise des Therapeutes Naturels).

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that supports the body’s natural ability to release tension and restore balance. It focuses on the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Subtle touch is used to encourage deep relaxation and self-correction within the nervous system.
Most people experience craniosacral therapy as deeply relaxing. You’ll remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on the table while the practitioner uses light touch to sense and support gentle movements in your body. You may feel warmth, pulsing, soft releases, or simply a sense of calm and spaciousness. .

Craniosacral therapy is beneficial for a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Stress, fatigue, and anxiety
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Jaw tension (TMJ)
  • Neck, back, or pelvic pain
  • Chronic pain or tension patterns
  • Post-injury or post-surgical recovery
  • Nervous system regulation and trauma support
